Bands 1 - 4

The Education & Workforce Development Team support bands 1-4 training and development of this staff group by in-house or external course delivery.

We offer a wide range of education for staff in bands 1-4 including a 12 week programme for all new starters to our Trust on the Care Certificate. Following on from there and inclusive of existing staff, we offer further opportunity to complete apprenticeships level 2 or 3 in a variety of subjects including Health & Social Care, Clinical Healthcare, Customer Service, Team Leading and Business Administration.

The training and development of Bands 1-4 will be aligned to your personal development plan outlined within your Job Description and discussed during your appraisals. This will ensure that your training is in-line with organisational and national requirements for your role enabling you to develop and grow each time training is achieved.

With a national focus on Health Care Assistants as a consequence of the Francis Inquiry and the Cavendish Review, Health Education England (HEE) was given a mandate by the Department of Health to improve the training for this group of staff. We took the view that the education and development for all staff working in a support role is vitally important, and began work on plans for a strategic framework to address this need and the low levels of investment typically seen across the country. Talent for Care now forms part of Framework 15, HEE’s guide to action. - https://www.hee.nhs.uk/talentforcare/wideningparti...
